The best access is an access that is individualized for you. During the initial consultation, I always pay attention to the anatomical features of each individual girl, because they play an important role in the correct choice of access for the placement of implants. Nature is diverse and it expresses itself in the diversity of our anatomy and the variability of our anatomy and it is worth keeping this in mind.

As a standard, I work with 3 main types of access for augmentation mammoplasty:

  1. Axillary;
  2. Areolar;
  3. Underbreadth.

In a situation where there is a subtle volume of breast tissues, no prolapse (ptosis) and sharply pronounced asymmetry, any access can be chosen.

This combination of initial data is an indication for axillary access.

In my opinion, this access gives the most aesthetic results, we can use both round and drop-shaped implants, and the scars are in invisible areas.

Rehabilitation for this type of access is similar to the other options and takes an average of 4 weeks. The main restrictions are aimed at reducing physical activity, especially of the hands, including weight lifting.

SUBMAMMARY ACCESS

is also possible with this anatomy, but practice shows that the scar after surgery is noticeable, especially when the hands are raised up.

AREOLAR ACCESS

I recommend it for the initial more difficult situations:

  • Expressed asymmetry of position of areolae and submammary folds;
  • Ptosis of the mammary glands;
  • Tubular deformity;

These situations always require additional corrections during breast augmentation surgery and may include various options for breast lift, sub-mammary fold enhancement, and/or parenchymal modification.
