PREPARATION

The first step in preparing for surgery is a consultation with a plastic surgeon, where the patient's preferences are discussed. The doctor determines the proportions of the face, the distance from the bottom of the chin to the nose to assess - what size lips will fit the face. The doctor performs a detailed assessment of the tissues in full relaxation, assesses the overall proportions, the length and width of the lips, the position of the corners of the mouth, the condition of the tissues, and simulates the final result. During the consultation, the question of how much a bulhorn costs is clarified.

At the reception, the doctor assesses the anamnesis, reveals the presence of allergies, various diseases, and unfavorable heredity. A number of tests are prescribed - general and biochemical blood tests, tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis, and an extended coagulogram.

Seven days before the intervention is necessary to refrain from taking alcohol, cancel drugs that affect clotting, exclude fatty foods and plenty of fluids. On the day of surgery you must completely abandon cosmetics, the last meal at least 8-10 hours before surgery.

EXECUTION TECHNIQUE

The operation does not require a long hospital stay. It can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. The intervention itself lasts about one hour. During the operation, the doctor removes a small area of skin between the upper lip and the nose. Due to the reduced distance, the upper lip lifts and visually becomes fuller and puffed up. The name of the operation acquired due to the fact that the piece of tissue that is removed during the operation, similar to bullhorn (bulhorn - translated as "bull's horns").

The surgeon makes a mark in the area of the nasolabial triangle, why small areas of skin in the area of the red fringe of the lips are excised, and the tissues are stitched together. In the process of intervention, the volume of skin in the area of the nasolabial angle is reduced, resulting in an increase in the size of the lip.

The rehabilitation period after bulhorn surgery lasts up to two weeks. All this time the patient is under the supervision of a doctor, strictly following all the recommendations of the specialist. If necessary, medications will be prescribed (usually local remedies for healing). During the recovery period in the lower third of the face may be mild swelling, a few days will be visible small bruises in the incision area, swelling. Extremely rarely there may be a slight soreness, which gradually decreases.

Among the key recommendations after surgery, it is important to avoid eating and drinking foods and drinks that increase swelling (salty, spicy, spicy). It is worth avoiding hot baths, sunbeds and saunas for about 2 weeks. It is important to protect the skin from direct sunlight, avoid injuries in the area of the nasolabial triangle, and limit facial expressions.
